IB.com LOVES :

The stunning stained glass collections from Harriet Biddington, a UK artist and friend whose work I have been admiring over the past few years....

Hazza Bee, AKA Harriet Biddington , grew up in Leamington Spa where her creative flair was nurtured by family, friends and teachers. Initially it was an affiliation with paint but this broadened to include film, photography, sculpture and street art.

After studying fine art at the University of Brighton she ran away to join the Circus. This was the start of her wandering, hand to mouth adventuring. She took a sound system to both UK free parties and European technivals. Ran a cafe from the lorry that doubled as her home and dabbled in millinery. Busked the streets to gypsy jazz as a stilt walker whist controlling handmade puppets. Wrote songs & poetry. Watched the moon and sat round numerous campfires.

Following a stint living in rural Portugal Hazza returned to Warwickshire where she settled. She has continued to travel the UK through her work as a bill posterer for circuses, funfairs and theatres.

After participating in various courses working with stained glass, Hazza became hooked on the medium and taught herself the rest.

With stained glass’s obvious ties to religion and spirituality, it seemed an appropriate medium to express the themes of personal faith, that often feature in her work.

Hazza now plans to move her home & studio to a boat on the Grand Union canal where she will create & sell her personal work from along with continuing to work on a commission basis.
