Ruth Emma Fox is a freelance Illustrator based in London. Her work combines traditional and contemporary practices that produce a unique and high level of craftsmanship.
Her dedication to craftsmanship had humble beginnings. Whilst studying Ruth inherited two complete engineering toolboxes from her grandfather. This would prompt an extensive and personal project, recording each tool and item through hand-drawn illustration and digitally created, contemporary designs. These themes would continue and evolve both within commercial and personal work in the form of illustration and animation.
Ruth’s specialism of craftsmanship is reflected in past clients, from the bespoke and high-end sector to extensive work within the gallery, museum, and heritage sector.
Additionally, her own ceramic and print lines are exclusively manufactured within the United Kingdom and with a lot of care from carefully selected suppliers.
Postgraduation Ruth was spotted for a placement with Tiger Print, creating illustration and design for Marks and Spencer, as well as being asked to take part in live drawing session in John Lewis, Oxford Street.
Notable clients and commissioned projects have included illustration for The Wallace Collection and the London Garden Museum projects as well as working on collaborative projects with bespoke makers such as the London Cloth Company.
These projects have had a strong focus on drawing and design for bespoke merchandise, trails, branding, and illustrative animation, pattern designs for textile print..
Thanks so much for the support for the sale Ruth, I'm so pleased with the beautiful print. Also lovely (and important) to have British artists uniting and supporting this sale.
All profits will go to St Mungo's.
