This black leopard pendant jewellery is inspired by the leopard mask of the Luba tribe, from the eastern songye in Congo. The Luba Tribe people can trace their history to as far back as the 7th century. Many African societies believe that masks possess the power of incarnation, performance of masked figures are widely considered to represent the visit of supernatural spirits, such as ancestors, animals or gods. Some masks may be used for religious or magical rites and they represent spirits of possession.
