The Farmers welsh lavender skincare brand originated from the first lavender farm in Wales in 2003. With Oxford philosopher, Bill Newton-Smith, and international journalist Nancy Durham both wondering how their Welsh sheep farm in blustery Builth Wales, near Hay-on-Wye could be put to new use. One fine evening that spring, Nancy reminisced of her lavender hedge in their Oxford garden and decided she would try to grow one at the farm. By September that same year she had planted an entire field of lavender and they subsequently became distillers of lavender oil and creators of lavender gifts.
